G-Watch ships as a Python package (gwatch) plus a set of agent skills. Pick your platform and toolkit version below to get the matching install command.

Platform
CUDA version
Install gwatch
$ pip3 install gwatch
Install the agent skills
$ npx skills add mars-compute-ai/G-Watch -g
Installs gwatch 0.0.34 from PyPI (built against CUDA 12.8). Prebuilt wheels target Python 3.12 on x86_64 Linux (manylinux_2_28).
Build from source
Set up a development environment with Conda on your host machine.
-
Clone the repository (recursively, for submodules):
git clone --recursive https://github.com/mars-compute-ai/G-Watch.git cd G-Watch -
Create and activate a Conda environment. The toolchain pin caps the resulting wheel at
manylinux_2_28:conda create -n gw312 python=3.12 gcc_linux-64=10 gxx_linux-64=10 \ sysroot_linux-64=2.28 -c conda-forge conda activate gw312 -
Install system dependencies and build tools:
conda install -c conda-forge cmake make meson pkg-config unzip \ eigen elfutils libwebsockets libcurl openssl \ libdwarf libdwarf-dev zlib 'libsqlite=*=h0*' sqlite nlohmann_json \ pybind11_json pybind11 -
Select the CUDA toolkit (optional — defaults to the
nvccin yourPATH):export GW_CUDA_HOME=/usr/local/cuda-12.8 -
Build and install the wheel:
python3 setup.py bdist_wheel --buildtype=release bash scripts/audit_wheel.sh ./dist/gwatch*.whl pip3 install wheelhouse/*.whl
Refer to the repository
README.mdfor the most up-to-date build instructions and any platform-specific notes.
Verify
Resolve the package and header paths used by the reference scripts:
# path to the gwatch package
python3 -c "import gwatch; print(gwatch.__path__[0])"
# path to the C++ headers (needed for CUDA C++ tracing)
python3 -c "import gwatch; print(gwatch.get_include())"
A quick smoke test that CUPTI hooks are active:
import gwatch.cuda.profile as gw_profile # initializes the capsule + CUPTI hooks
print("G-Watch ready")
